I"ve been having a problem with slow screen redraws lately ( new system 3.2ghz P4 , 1g ram , E-mu 0404 board , Asus P4c800-e Mobo , Matrox G450 dual head video card )
After installing the E-mu board the screen redraws seem to have slowwwwwed down and have gotten chuncky !!!!

Any suggestions

Thanks
Buzz

PS: off topic I have been doing some mixes at home with my old Event 20/20 monitors and I finally got this system up at that studio , then rechecked my mixes on the Tannoy System 800a's ! WOW where they OFF !!!! man I forgot how big of a jump the Tannoys were ????

Interesting - where were they out?

I use Event 20/20's and chose them over Dynaudio's when I bought them because I felt I could hear further into the mix.
The Dynaudio's sounded great but more like something I'd like to listen to a finished product on.

Thanks Buzz

Omaru the 20/20 actually produced a fairly good mix in the car , I just noticed a lot of things that could have been mixed more smoothly on the tannoys ???? if that really makes a difference I'll find out on the next mix after a test in the car

Perhaps the Emu card is stealing the DMA bus time and starving the Matrox board of access.

Do you have the Matrox DMA Bus Mastering option turned ON in the Matrox Advanced Display settings?

There is a conflict with these 2 cards. Make sure you PCI latency is 64 or higher. 128 is safest.
