I need to put together a second sac computer for my rack. It will be the redundant box but still needs to handle the load. I have an Intel 2.0 duo core processor on my shelf and decent ram. I'm thinking about putting this in a 2U computer case so the motherboard must be 12x10 max. Looking for inexpensive right now because there is about $2000 worth of other gear I want to buy over the next 6 months. I'd like to overclock it if possible so I want something user friendly for that. I'll be using a Raydat card if that matters.
Right now I have a Q6600 (2.4 quad) that runs at most 40% with our load
Thanks (Using Raydat and xp tweaks).
Also, as far as SAC is concerned, is ddr3 any better than ddr2? I haven't searched this question yet, just asking.

Generally, the fastest ram is best for SAC... everything going on in the engine is about ram copies and moves.
