H! to everybody
Carlos' test concerning of the input possibilities of SS+good technologies reminded me to do the test I usualy do for output power of SS.
setup is
P4 2.8 on P4p800,
DDR400 512 mB
SATA 8 mB buff, 120G 7200
winXP Pro SP-1, with paging file=765 mB (sorry due to lot of tracks SAW refuses to load EDL without it)
M-Audio 1010
ASIO 1 x 256
SS last ver.
Solid STEREO tracks 44100 x 24bits each of 2 minutes in the MT from zero.
all tracks assigned to one output.
All 72 tracks playback seems NOT a limit due to MT Load indicator showing about 30% in periodical peaks.
add to all 72 compressors + gates are ON!
all 71 faders are 72 dB down.
The PATA WD 40G shows worse results and with all the same it can achieve only 67 tracks. With 67 tracks MT Load shows peaks of 95% and playback stops if 67+1 track.
In fact, we don't know any other DAW managing so with such digits...
