Being somewhat of a logical thinker, I tried "www.livesoundmagazine.com" to no avail. There's a "www.livesoundmagazine.co.uk" but I don't think that that's the correct site. If you can provide the home page URL (yes...type it in manually like a cave man...<;^)...I'll search for the article and post the article URL.

Edit: Just for grins tried the Google search engine criterion: "sac" site:livesoundmagazine.co.uk

The results:

Your search - "sac" site:livesoundmagazine.co.uk - did not match any documents.

Got the same result for keyword search "software." Sorry, bro'....I tried....<:^)

Front page, no less:

Here's the link to the online Digital Digest. You have to subscribe to get the link emailed to you, but it's free. If you get the Mag, you're likely already getting the digital digest, too.

I'm guessing he means http://www.livesoundint.com/, but I can't see a way to get any current articles up. I'm guessing free available content may be delayed.

I searched that site to no avail. The way to use the Google search engine to search specific sites with no search engine is to use this syntax. Include quotes:

"search criteria" site: yourwebsite.com

This will allow you to search any website.

Using this method, I tried:

"software audio console" site: livesoundint.com

This netted zero results. However this search:

"sac" site: livesoundint.com

...netted many results, but not the Software Audio Console SAC.

What is the story on linear integer processing?

Thanks.
I like how the article spent a good deal of time talking about integer arithmetic (after the discussion of such in the StudioLive thread) :)
cheers,

The most Interesting Part of the Article was the note that Air Console will soon be available in 128 channels....

so how could we do that with SAC? i transalte this to: either a Huge SAC update is comming arround (maybee with the dedicated ethernet hardware?) or there is another software company working on something simmilar (like digico with its SD Stageboxes conroled by a computer)
whatever it will be, it will bring computer mixing to more people, so we are not that "niche" anymore :)

so Bob, anything new from that ethernet connection from your side? ;)

and in that is this quote...

Up to 256 faders, buttons, and rotary controls can be mapped to inputs, outputs, Aux sends, EQ and so on. Future AIR products will include dedicated fader banks that can be combined with PC tablets, bringing the best of both formats to users

how in the hell do we get that many faders, knobs and buttons?? unless I am counting wrong there are only 36 per BCF200 which when you tie 4 together you get 144...

I'm not familiar with controllers but I believe that they feature banks which multiply the usable number of controls.

As for the article I found it good reading; enough to print a clean version in a PDF. I can't put the file online but I'll be happy to provide a link to friends in need of archiving. Friends can share hard copies, right ?

Awesome article. One of my favorite quotes of the article:

"For those of us who do not design A/D and D/A chip sets for a living, or spend our time writing hexi-decimal code...."

Yeah...I hate spending the entire day writing hexi-decimal code. What language does one write hexi-decimal code in? Probably Binary...LOL...

I could see some reporter trying to fit into a conversation with a bunch of developers, "Yeah...I wrote some hexi-decimal code in my day...wrote it in binary..."

I crack myself up sometimes....
