I found a free 1176 and LA-2A style plugin that works well with SAC ,,,,Running two of these plugins at once adds about 5% more load on CPU meter but after comparing these to T-racks and Waves these sound real close......I don't have access to UAD to compare but for free these are nice ,,,,The Antress site does not have these two listed ...Here is were i found them ,,,,, http://www.gersic.com/plugins/hosted/antress/
,,,,There is alot of other cool ones here also that work with SAC

Even if they don't sound close I want 'em.. people see that and think wow, he's got the real stuff! You know how folks are, if it looks right, it must be :)

I don't have a real LA-2A but I do have an old silverface 1176LN w/blue badge and two Blackface Hairball Audio Rev D 1176s I run them behind a pair of Seventh Circle Audio N72 Neve Clones ,,,, I gotta say,,, I'm impressed with these free plugins. The T-Racks sounded better to me than the Waves but the Antress was somewhere in between . The thing that made me not buy the T-Racks La-2a and 1176 plugins is that you have to use Guitar Rig 4 to load them ,,,,,CPU Sucker for sure.

I use the LA2A and 1176 from my UAD card, and i love it, the LA2A has that "miracle of bringing things together" feeling, and it looks damn good ;)

i will try those freeware ones soon, because of the limitations in saving and recalling the UAD Plugs.

I found that the latency on these 2 plugins caused problems (phasing ) for me in SAC. How are you using them? or How are you avoiding these problems?

P.S. I'm using a UAD 1 card.

Thanks

Hal

Interesting. Those are the older versions before they changed the name and graphics to (I guess) avoid copyright infringements.
They released later versions which go by different titles and graphics.
But, I notice that the files in your URL include both the older and newer versions (I believe the code is same - just graphics changed)

Antress has some pretty interesting plugins - but many are very FAR from the sound of the actual original hardware products.

+1 on the LA-2A and 1176 ... using the UAD2 Solo/Laptop card. I also love using the Studer A800 and Ampex ATR-102 plugins. UA did a gr8 job on these...or am I being hypnotized by the spinning reels......reelly? :D:p

Those are relatively CPU hungry. Hope they sound good enough to justify the hit. Guess I'm not often looking for color and the Levelizer has kept me happy.

The Antress plugins sound fine...they are not the best on the market but they get the job done.I use the LA2A and the Modern Channel and they really help me with my gigs.Acoustic guitars benefit the most from LA2A and I use st.LA2A on the mix bus too, just a touch. Not even moving the needle.

The plugz I mentioned are:
LA2A tiype of Leveling AMPS

and

Modern|Channel

also I like the Disstressnor type of two plugz

the 1176 series.....and the most of all....

theModern Painkillllllaaaaaaaaa!!!!! He...is....da PainkillllaaaaaAAAAA!!!!!!

jummmmmmyyyyyy!!!!!!!

I mixed a show where everybody had In-Ear and all I can say is..... that the In-Ear is the best "PLUGIN" ;-) that you can get for your SAC when you're mixing live shows. No monitor = RULE, but not many artist like the ide and it's hard for them get used to.

When I used the Antress pluging an the concert it was an Christian rock band with Accguiz and dist and allll....I used the LA2A st.on the mix with some GEQ and that was it.Sounded like the CD.Acc was done with LA3A painkillaaaa and I used the Freeverb2 for rev.The crowd was blown away...jaws on the floor.

Go ahead and try it....
Wish you a great time!

I have a problem under SAC with all these Synthedit Plugins.
If i recall a build in preset, nothing happens in the gui. You can hear changes, but all buttons stay at the same setting.
Any solutions?

Best wishes

After recalling the preset, if you close and re-open the plugin window do the settings update correctly?

Also... what happens if you save the preset as a SAC preset in the plugin window and then use that instead of the built-in preset... does that cause the display to update correctly?

If you close and reopen the plugin after recalling a build-in Preset, it seems that the parameters are shown correct after reopening.
Saving it as an SAC Preset and opening it, has the same Problems like the build-in Presets.

I built a rack of SCA pre's, they were fun to build.

I just ordered a Dip LA-2A to build this winter.
