And another question from the newcomers testing department:

when you loop a region in the MT and the end is reached it always takes Saw a fraction of a second before playback starts from the beginning again. So its a not a smooth loop as in other audio software. This makes jamming along with the playback a little difficult. Can this be changed with windows performance settings? Any other cure?

Thanks

..not sure but maybe buffer settings.

However, if this is essential for your creative process I would
copy the loop area to another layer and copy out numerous instances of it and spend a minute to get the transition nice and clean...
then jam away.

The SoundFile view allows seamless looping for marking looped sections... but the MT does not at this time... it stops and resets and restarts all plugins and signal routing... this gets very complex internally, which is why it has not coded yet.

The loop feature is a simple one for looping a section while adjusting eq or compression or whatever... SAWStudio is not designed as a loop editior... to do repeated loop sections, you copy and paste the sections along the timeline and build the project in a realtime space.

This is designed this way for many reasons, sound design to video playback being one of the main ones.

If you really want seamless looping of a section, use the buildmix feature and quickly build a mix of the main section to a new soundfile... it will open in the SF view... from there you can mark and exact section and use the play loop mode (Ctrl-Right-Click or Ctrl-SpaceBar) in the SF view for endless seamless looped playback.
