Help please!

I normally use SS for making radio commercials, so this kind of routing doesn't normallt come up - here's the question:

I have someone singing to a backing track on SS. I'd like to send him some reverb in his cans to help his vocal performance but not record the actual verb.

I use a Fireface 800 ADA

Can this be done using a plug-in for the verb and how would I route it please?

Many thanks!

1. Allow the input signal to pass through SAW: In the options menu set the "auto monitoring switching protocol to tape style."

2. Put your reverb plug-in on a return channel. Assign the return channel to the output you're using.

3. Get the vocal sending to the reverb channel: Assign the vocal track's to the AUX the corresponds to the reverb's return channel. AUX 1 = Return 1.

4. Check gain all around. Maybe start with AUX at unity and return channel at - 12 dB. Wet to Dry ratio in Reverb at 100***37; Wet.

5. Make sure you set your soundcard buffers low to 2 x 64 or 4 x 64 in the Options/Audio Device Setup

Read the "Understanding the Virtual Console" section of the helpfile... the aux section explains how to use an aux as a headphone feed. The Aux Return section explains how to add verb.
