tablet stylus problem

im not sure if i have something set wrong , or its just the way it is, but, when i use the stylus on my tablet (HP compaq tc-1100) to adjust,,,say,,,eq parameter,,if i touch the right hand side of the parameter box to activate the "on fader" function, the parameter setting will jump to meet the position of the stylus on the box instead of placing the cursor on the fader at the position it was previously.the sudden and uncontrolled changes are a nightmare.
i have this problem on all similar "ontop fader" functions basically making them unusable , leaving list selection as the only usable option.
does anyone else have this problem?. is there a known solution?

Not sure what "ontop fader" means, but enabling Touch Mode in the SAC menu is supposed to prevent this kind of behaviour.
