Hi all!
We***180;ve read it often but I, too have to say that I***180;m glad to see the forum and you back here!
After the modification to external antennas a while ago at my two remote laptops (Asus netbook and Samsung dualcore) I was wandering if I reached my aim of getting more stable wlan connections and better range.
I found a tool called "wifi sistr" online (unfortunately I***180;m not sure if I***180;ve found it in this forum but the search-function here brought no results so I decided to start a new thread). http://www.heise.de/download/wifi-sistr.html
This tool is a "always on top" display that shows the quality of connection in -dB and/or bars. For me it***180;s better because it refreshes more often than the windows bar-graph and is always seeable.
You can setup a barrier in order to warn of bad connection e.g. via a tone.
Has anyone of you experience with this tool? For me it had worked fine for the last shows, but perhaps a second opinion is usefull for others.
After I changed the antennas at the laptops (from internal to 7dBi omni external) I got a plus of 9dBi on the meter and have never had a connection loss since then.
Next week I***180;ve got my SAC Rig at a classic and Jazz Festival for 4 days with the Stateorchestra of Rheinland-Pfalz and Thomas Zoller with his Bigband. Very nice HK Rig, I***180;ll comment in another thread afterwards.
Best regards,
Julius
