Hello,
I seem to be unable to get an answer to my question...are the line inputs on an ADA8000 - Hi-Z? I want to use SAC as an amp sim.
If they are not...what is required?
Thanks in advance.

Nope.
You need to use a DI

Hello,
I gather that the ADA8000's unbalanced input impedence is 10k ohms...too low for an electric guitar...so a direct box is required?
Is this correct?

Yep...passive pickups and piezo-electric pickups require more on the order of 10Mohm.

I use my Radial J48 DI to run my guitar into the ADA8000. From there I process the guitar with either POD Farm 2.0 or some other type of Guitar Sim.

Hello,
Thanks for all of the responses...much appreciated.
I use stock humbuckers...with passive pickups...so would I go passive or active DI?
I see that Jeff uses an active DI.

Shameless plug for the Radial products. I love them. Well worth the expense. Very transparent to my ears.;)

Passive electronics generally warrant an active DI. Active or line level signals usually work fine with a passive DI. Might want to look for a smaller interface that has the Hi-Z inputs on the front panel. No need to go through an ADA.

I use 2.
1 is the waves PRS interface, it is a DI with gain control and i use it when only software amp simulation is used. straight from the guitar to the PRS and from there to the ADA8000
it has a Mic and a Line output with groundlift

I tested it With my Avalon U5 and the PRS and there is almost no difference. a nice clean signal with no color change.
2 is the Palmer PDI09, this one I use after the hardware FX pedals and then to the ADA8000 and if you want to the Guitar amp to combine the signals it can nog go straight into the guitar.

I use a passive Ibanez E-Guitar without a DI-Box .Directly into the ADA-> Works fine with SAC and Guitar-Rig.
