Hi - probably pilot error here but I was trying to fix our "pop" problem by switching our RME soundcard to the other PCI slot since it seems to have some IRQ conflicts where it was.

After the switch I noticed latency in the system that we didn't have before. When I checked the wave device settings it was set to 2x512. The buffer size field is locked and I can't seem to change it. It is dark grey and there is no menu when I click in that field.

However the preload buffers field is still selectable.

So what can I do to fix this?

Thanks

Buffer size is set on the audio interface, not in SAC. Use your card driver software to change it.

When using ASIO drivers, the driver controls the buffer size... Windows MultiMedia drivers allows the host app to control the buffer size.

With SAC, you are most likely forced to go ASIO... except with older RME cards, because the MME drivers could also do the low latencies.
