I've been trying to Authorize Garritan Personal Orchestra (purchased via the SawStudio Group buy back in 2005), on the LAW/DAW rig.

So far, none of the Auth pathways have worked.

The Online method just goes to the NI home page.
No response..yet.. to emails to NI and/or Gary Garritan.

Seems blocked.

Just wondering if anybody here has any up to date info..

Thanks!

Hi;
Firstly; the current versions of Garritan SoundLibraries use a different engine called the AREA Player.

Apart from that I've had no issue when I updated to the latest version not so long ago.
Perhaps the fact that they got taken over by Finale adds to the confusion.

Below is the email I received when we purchased GPO and JABB.

Thank you for shopping at http://www.garritan.com ! Please save this email for further reference, it contains the serial numbers of the products you have just bought! * Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 Full: xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx * Download your products at: http://www.garritan.com/store/registration/downloads/ * Download your product keys at: http://www.garritan.com/store/registration/keys/

Hope this help!

Yea thanks Robert.. that does help.

I never updated (never got any news about updates).. so still on the original GPO release.
Good news is.. like you said.. upgrade path is available for fifty bucks.. n' you go to the AREA player.

Just got off the phone with the folks at Finale about the Garritan lib.. They said the original version is auth'd by Native Instruments (Kontakt) n' I'll have to go through them.

If this gets much more involved, I'll probably ditch Garritan and move on. GPO v1 is 8 years old .
(ya know.. leaning towards ditching it already).

Maybe more later..

Should you decide to move on, you might take a lóòk at Miroslav Philharmonic.

I had picked up the SE (or LE?) version in a "no-brainer" sale for $20. Shortly thereafter, I took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade to the full version (can't remember the upgrade price, but it was cheap). IMHO, it blows Garritan out of the water. When I get a chance, I'll post a sample...then you can judge for yourself.

Yea, it is done. I've uninstalled Garritan n' am moving on.

Miroslav Philharmonic looks like a great alternative.

Very cool.
Looking forward to your sample.

Thanks!

Peace

I tried to attach an mp3...about 6-7 MB...but I guess it's too large.

Wow, nice full orchestra sound. Especially liked the intro..
Strong work!

Definitely a nice alternative to Garritan.

Thanks for sharing that!

Thank you, Sir(e)...glad you liked it. :)

I thought it came out pretty decent, considering I'm in a small røøm with Edirol MA-10Ds...not exactly suitable for mixing (don't even think about mastering, lõl!). :o

I will say that my V6s, plus occasional use of the VRM Box' algos, come in handy.

Best regards,
