Probably been covered here already, but anybody know if I can use SAWStudio with a Mackie 1620i & if so, what driver software I need?

Thanks

Dan

Mackie are hopeless with their drivers. Be very careful and don't expect much in the way of updates. Look on the Mackie forum to see the discontent.

That doesn't surprise me. I'll limp thru using a poor imitation of SAWStudio on a mac.

Thanks, Dom

I don't think you'll find the Mac drivers are any better. Nothing for 10.8.x, at least not the last time I looked. If they work, they work. If you're running SAW on XP or Win7 you may be ok. Pretty sure there was nothing for Win8.

I had the earlier version of that mixer, the 1640 with a very expensive and poorly spec'd FW interface card. It sounded great, and looked and felt lovely but the firewire drivers were dire. They never made it past version 1.0.0

I also had a Mackie MDR2496 - again, a great piece of kit with lousy firmware, not updated enough, given the lifespan of the product.

Good luck

Dominic
EDIT: Just checked - driver version 1.9 for Windows covers 32bit only XP SP3 to 32bit and 64bit Win 7. Mac is OS 10.4.11 to 10.7.1

I use SAWStudio with my Mackie Onyx 1640 i and it works perfectly every time on both laptop and desktop systems. Win XP SP 3.
