problem in EDL

A friend of mine is using saw 5 and has a little problem.. he removed waves plugins, but there are some that are still in the EDL.. when he tries to go to the channel and remove the effect SAW just shuts down.. every time.. how can you remove a efx that is no longer valid or installed from the edl?

Make sure that SAW is not linked to the removed plugins... take the dll or .ini file link out of the SAW VST Plugins folder... then restart the program... it will complain that it can't find the plugin and he should be able to remove them from the patch windows.
