New machine for stems and bus processing

Hi all,

I'm getting a small form factor PC to basically run stems/Busses from my main machine and do bus processing and prep or mastering.

I am planning to use lightpipe or Madi from and back to the main machine for transfer and monitoring.

I own a FireFace 800 as my main interface. The problem is that in my old machine that I'm getting rid of, I still have an old RME 9636 PCI card that has ADAT only ins/outs. I can't use it in a modern machine due to it being PCIe only, so I'm looking for alternatives.

I'm leaning towards an external box and I don't need any conversion.

I am aware that I can't do Madi with the Fireface so I guess I'm limited to lightpipe as the transfer protocol...

Any suggestions? Am I missing something?
