Hey Steve,

I was told about your services by a mutual friend - but um... nothing on your site works - all the links are dead ends...

Have you moved your pages somewhere?

Hi Alan -
Yes - my website is in a very sad out of date basically unfunctioning shape right now. Essentially - I've been enormously busy the past year working as a mastering engineer and with my string quartet, Invert, and made the decision to minimize my own personal business activities. A complete update of the totalsonicmedia.com website, including a bunch of resource pages for SAWStudio, is among my plans and I hope to get to it in the next couple of months. Right now I'm doing a big face lift for the invert.org site first though - so considering that Jeanne has a six month backlog - the update won't happen immediately.

As far as services:
I can get people on this board excellent pricing on mastering, and pressing for CD, DVD, & 12" vinyl record, including complete packages with graphic design and the highest quality direct to plate offset printing, at the plant which houses the mastering studio I work in - Europadisk - http://www.europadisk.com
If people are interested in a quote for any of this you can email me at steve@europadisk.com or call 800-455-8555 x 325 - or if you are in New York - 718-407-7325

I am currently not building DAWs beyond my own personal machines and occasional ones for friends. I found that I spent a lot of time providing quotes without that many bites, and that my own approach is too conservative to market well (i.e. I like to build stuff with things that have proven track records rather than the "latest and greatest"), and that there are many companies out there now that because they have high volume are able to provide much lower pricing than I could give.

I am still a VIP Affiliate and can give people some very nice discounts on SAWStudio software. Currently I think for those who need ultra-quick support that Robert Randolph is definitely out-doing me in this regard! - and currently recommend people go to him at this point as I think he has time to respond to emails and phone calls quicker than I do right now. If the mastering work slows down (which it typically does in mid to late summer) then I will most likely renew my activities letting people know about my favorite audio app (which anyone who lurks on the boards at http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/f/31/0 - http://www.recording.org/forum-20.html & http://messageboard.tapeop.com/ will see I still do when ever I get the chance!) and helping them to get the most out of their software.

I am however thinking of attending the Tape Op convention in New Orleans in June and if so will definitely bring a laptop to show off what SAW can do there.
and -
If I can convince Bob to get a booth at AES here in NYC in October I hope to be able to help out there also.

and - if any SAWyer happens to be stopping in at NYC and would like a tour of the mastering studio along with getting the opportunity to see CD, DVD, and vinyl presses all in action - then feel free to drop me a line as I'd be glad to take the time to show you around.

anyway - thanks for your interest - and again I hope to have a complete update of the website done by June.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

Hmmmm..... I've always wanted to visit NYC. SAW at AES would be the "killer app" for me :)

Allow me to give a tip of the hat to Steve. I went through TSM to get Basic (and the free plugs he was giving). You know you're dealing with a good guy when he will tell you to go to another VIPer.
