Distortion while recording

Hi, I keep having a recurring problem when recording. I usually record our practice sessions and when I go to play back the individual songs some of them are distorted-sounds crackly and like it's sped up. Any suggestions? Thanks Tim

Sample-rate setting mismatch somewhere?

You need to have one master clock and the converters should be set to follow that... if there are two soundcards, one needs to be the master and the other set as a slave and you need to wordclock them together or use an spdif signal to sync them together.

Each soundcard is different... what do you have in your system?

I usually like to set the soundcard as the master clock and set the converters to optical sync with my RME system... works perfect.

If you are using FocusRite converters, you also must match the samplerate on the front panel with the soundcard rate manually... even if they are set to slave... the internal clock must be set to match... or there will be trouble.
