One of my favorite sites for chasing down DX and VST plugs is

Use the links at the top right corner of their home page and find virtually every plug-in out there. :)

This site is not for freeware only stuff... it is for everything , including commercial, freeware and shareware.

Funny Bob likes kvr-vst :) The forum tears up Saw anytime it's mentioned... but it does have a good review there ;) ;) ;)

My favorite plugins are from voxengo, but they cost very little. Kjaerhus audio makes some great free stuff... And voxengo has some excellent freebies too.

You can check out vstcentral, which has a better selection of free things.
