Another Digiface question

When I plug a mic into my preamp then go into the digiface then into the computer I get no signal monitoring in SAW. The converter is getting a signal. On the digiface I can't even tell if its on. I think it is. When I unplug it and then plug it back in the midi lights flash and the Host error light flashes then nothing. Shouldn't the Input state ADAT lights 1,2, and 3 be on?

SAW lets me put the input track in record ready, just no sound or levels going into the computer

on the lightpipe cable i can see the red light when it's plugged into the out on the digiface, but no light when plugged into the in.
