Hi,

I wonder if, after the discussion going on in the year 2013, anyone has modified an ADA8200 so far.

If so, I'd be happy about more information.

The basic architecture is the same, so there's no reason this shouldn't work just fine on the ADA8200

Yes, it features eight inputs and eight outputs, which is exactly the same as the ADA8000 does :-)
But the first look on the PCB shows that the pots are stereo - pots (opposite to the ADA8000, where they were mono)....

No word directly from Rolf? On his website is says: "Special pots with dual or triple wiper are supported on request". So it might need some modification.

Hi,

It allows you to remote control the gain setting via midi (and a plugin in SAC). Very useful if you're preamps are on stage.

Where do I find more info about the mod? I may buy some ADA8200 units just for this.

Hi,

the information can be found here: http://appsys.ch/en/products/specialties/rgc-24a-m

I'm not sure if the unit is still available, contact Rolf ( info@appsys.ch ) and ask if there are still units available before you spend any money. Rolf is also a member in this forum, so maybe he'll join in here.

Question?

Can the VST pug in be ran from SAC remote? Say we have the main SAC engine on stage with these modified ADA8200's but are running FOH through SAC Remote. Can we still adjust the gain at FOH?

:-) Well, the VST plugin will work as any other VST plugin.

But I've programmed a 'native' SAC - plugin which works as you expect it :-)
