A dumb question would be, e.g., "Can I record music with SAW?". That would definitely be a dumb question. ;)

SAW doesn't have a built in metronome. A couple of common approaches are to 1) use the JMS metronome (http://www.jms-audioware.com/ss_click.htm) which is a freeware plugin written specifically for SAW or 2) buy MIDI WorkShop (http://sawstudio.com/MidiWorkShop.htm) which is the MIDI add-on for SAW. There're certainly other options, but one of these should work for you. You can search the forum on "metronome" and find more info.

You can download a free metronom from http://www.jms-audioware.com/ss_click.htm,
remember to read the manual, it has some nice feature build in.

To make a 2 messure count, you can go into tempo mode and hit "G" (grid mode) on the keybord and move the cursor 2 messure by clicking the arrow
key on the keybord, then hit "shift+home" this will move the timeline begining
to the cursor position, now you have a 2 messure count in and your song will
start at messure 1.

Another way is to mark e.g. 200 messure on a track and hit "G", then load a
click sample into the region window and hit "ctrl+insert" on the keyb.
This will place the sample on every beat down the timeline.
You could also place a drumloop instad of a click.

A third way is to buy the MWS (sequenser) and use its contuctor track.

kaliwild, last time I checked, you had to use version 1.5 of the JMS metronome. Not absolutly sure if this is still the case though.
