hi, i recieved an avi in 720x486 resolution only to find out it doesnt work. i then checked my avi's of working videos and they were 720x480. my question is what should i tell the final cut people to make the avi in. what specs what resolution. i know 720x480 works but are their any others that work. i wasted all this time today dealing with trying to get this video that didnt work, now i just want to know what specs to give to the final cutters for giving me an avi if im not capturing from dv cam or any other method. thanks!

I always suggest a straight DV format AVI file... type 1 or 2... in NTSC standard format for the USA and in PAL standard format for europe and other PAL countries.
The DV format will dictate the size.

Yep that is the way to go; from there you can do what you want with the video.
There are a ton of other settings......and so many different variables that it will boil your mind....
