Yesterday I was messing around with settings of the buffers on the RME hdsp 6952 when I went to lower buffer settings the playback crapped out ( noisy or just noise ) but when going to larger buffers it reset itself ?? , I know DOES IT HURT WHEN U DO THAT?, THEN DONT DO IT !!!
Anyhow should SAW be shut down when doing this type of setup ?

You cannot have SAWStudio buffers set to a larger size than the RME driver... so if SS was at 512 and then you started dropping the RME below that, you would start to loose playback sync and start seriously glitching at a certain point based on buffer size and number settings.

The RME driver must be set to the same size or smaller than SS.

Sorry Bob, I think you contracdicted yourself in that post. Which can be smaller, RME or SAW?

Yes... you are correct... it should read SS buffers can not be set SMALLER than the RME buffers.

To clarify... if RME is set to 64... SS can be set to anything... if RME is set to 128, SS must be 128 or larger... etc.

If you try SS at 256 and the RME at 512... POSSIBLE TROUBLE.
