Using a Dual 3.2 Gig Xeon w/4 Gig ram!
I would regularly have mixes with about 30 tracks, and patch a Verb or Other VST/DX in a tracks Pre or Post insert and would always have issues. Causing CPU load to run very high approx 70-92, even with this much power, it would CRASH :eek:
Since I started sending track data via aux sends, and having that Aux have a patched in Effect I am at a steady 12 to 14 % CPU Load and VERY STABLE no matter how many tracks are being mixed down or have an effected sound.
There certainly are times when I still do use a VST on the track alone but I still have a lot of CPU left! :D
If you ave not using effects this way you are wasting your computers resources.
