Greetings everyone,

New here at the SS forum and time i post an issue i'm experiencing
while evaluating the SawStudioBasic Demo.
Been trouble shooting what i ran into for the better part of the morning.

My PC Config:
P-4 3.0Ghz Abit IC7-G
512 mb ram
Maxtor 40GB 7200 IDE
Maxtor 120GB SATA 7200
SeaGate 80GB SATA 7200
TerraTec DMX 6Fire 24/96 PCI
Latest WDM/ASIO audio drivers installed
WinXP home edition
WaveLab 4.C

While recording a few test tracks I'm getting a brief audio studder at the
beginning of recorded tracks. Zoomed in on the waveform(s) in question
and discovered a .21ms gap of missing audio data.
This is repeatable on any additional tracks recored at nearly the exact
position on the timeline at position 00:00:00 .558 -gap- .579.
After that point the audio resumes to tracks completion without a stutter
or glitch.
With that said, experimented with In/Out Preload Buffers sizes and arriving
at the Good,Bad, and the Ugly tolerances until all is stable without a hiccup.
Which are: Out preload buffers-3, out buffers-1024. In preload buffer-3
In buffer-1024.
Under >Audio Driver Model I'm setup for> 24 Bit WDM Compatible Multimedia.
I have a question about ASIO settings, but will save it for another post.
Also checked > Asio Skip First Buffer Preload to eliminate that as an issue.
Still thinking its a buffers, preload, drivers problem I opened WaveLab 4 and
recorded a couple test tracks from the same audio input source.
Zoomed the waveforms, no studder, no glitches, perfect.
Finally,
what initiates this audio stutter for me in the first place only happens
when the 'Record Remote Transport' controls are toggled.
Clicking 'REC/RDY' to hear the input source, I hear a brief audible dropout
stutter. Then again when i hit the REC button.
So its happening anytime the rec/rdy or rec buttons are toggled.
I shutter at the consequences of this happening on a punch-in.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry my post lenght Girls & Gents.
Very much like the GUI design, EQ and functionality of this well engineered and developed Studio.
