Automation Gallery - what am I doing wrong?

I was trying to chase down Dave L's automation problem, but I haven't used the automation gallery before.

I started a new edl.
I have a wav file on the MT, track 1.
I did a bit of automation with the volume fader.
I marked the area (automation still on, I can see the curves).
I displayed the automation gallery. I clicked File -> 'save automation file'.
I named and saved the file.

It doesn't appear in the gallery. Should it?

You must have the gallery open to a set of gallery files... just use the default open gallery option and then you will see what you saved and new ones you create wll automatically show up in the list.

Thanks Bob, seems odd that I can't start from scratch, but now I know how it works, all fine. Thanks.

Also... if you open a gallery diroctory and then save your prefs... it will default open to that gallery everytime you start the program.
