What is the right key/mouse combination to copy a portion of one track and move it to another track using a marked area?
Thanks, Shawn...

Shawn,
Many ways to go here:
1) You can simply mark an area and use the Alt-Left-Click in the marked area... you must let go of the click and the area will be converted into a new region and the cursor will change to a drag icon which you can then simply drop where you want with another left-click.
2) You can also simply create a region from the portion by using the K key to split the beg and end of the area you wish to copy... this will create a separate region. From there you can then simply grab with the ctrl-left-click and drag it to another track... if you right-click before releasing, you will drop a new copy of the section.
3) Once you have the section as a region, you can use Select Mode... select the region... switch hot tracks with your cursor at the destination position and use the Ctrl-Backspace to drop a new copy. Learn more details about moving and copying with mouse/keystrokes in the helpfile.

Also if you haven't downloaded the "tutorial library" do so right away. This and other moves are explained there.
