You guys who are using this is rehersals or even live, are you using it at 16 or 24 bit? I really like recording in SAW at 24 bit but is there a need for 24 in live sound in your opinion? I'm sure that the overhead on CPU/latency is measurably different, but is the flexibility of all that headroom a worthwhile tradeoff?

Thanks

16-bit here. I didn't even bother to change the setting.

Already have ran SAC live twice, and for many rehearsals... only thing I've heard is about how tight and clear everything sounds.

I've always run at 24 bit. No issues with RME hardware.

The 24 bit res adds very little to the cpu overhead... in fact... hardly any difference at all.

The entire internsal engine is already at 24 bit all the time... the only additional overhead would be the slightly more data coming to and from the devices.

High samplerates will hit the cpu much harder than the change from 16 to 24 bit res.

Thanks Bob, that's worth knowing, especially as I expected you to say the opposite, knowing the great results you get from your 16/44.1 recording.
