Any idea how usable something like this is? Or is it pieces of sample collections -- like only an octave or something?

"Contains INTAKT and KOMPAKT sampler from Native Instruments"
These plugs are $229/each on NI's website...am I seeing this correct?
Do these plugs play 'any' sample or just samples produced for these plugs explicitly?
What would these have over freebie sample playing vsti's, like loopaziod, etc?
tia, for the answers without me researching for myself, lol.

Is this legal? or are we taklking pirate here?
Kompact and Kontact are not freeware. Neither are the EastWest libraries as far as I know.

This is legal from what Ive been able to see so far.
EW and NI have teamed up to release it apparently... pretty cool?

Ah, what the hey? I went and ordered the product. Looks quite legal...in fact, this sorta reminds me of what Sony [Sonic Foundry] puts out for its ACID software..."8-packs"...free loops distributed every week or so.
For 10 buck$ shipping, seems more than worth it to me. :)

I saw this while browsing the K-V-R website eariler today. I just wanted to pass this on to anyone who was familar with Kompakt/ Intakt and maybe interested in a $9.75 demo CD. Nothing more, nothing less. Sorry if this was not proper on this message board.

On kvr it says "Intakt and Kompakt based modules".
So they probably use the basic engine but are limited in
functionality.

Hey, did anyone ever receive their free stuff? I never received anything. Nor did I get charged. But I ordered it and all... Kind of disappointing. :(

The site won't let me register. That's one way to slow giveaways down! ;)

Bob LSince the site IS the EW (SoundsOnLine) it is almost certainly legal/valid. I ordered the EWQL Symphony Orchestra on their recent Group Buy, and they included this particular 'freebie' in the package. I haven't loaded this disc yet, but I suspect that the Kompakt and Intakt will only support this sampler disc. That is how the EWQLSO Kompact works, as far as I've seen.
It may worth no more than the shipping cost, but I can't say, since I haven't loaded the free samples! :)

Ah, you jumped in, too, John, did ya? So did I! How are you likin' the Gold? It's definitely got some cool sounds. You plannin' to upgrade to Pro?
As for the zero-g disk, it contains over 600 mb of free sounds from 21 titles. I also have yet to load it. And Bob, rest assured, it is copyrighted by EastWest, Zero-G Limited, and Native Instruments. All is well.
Most likely a demo disk to whet your appetite for more, I assume.

Blessings,Yeah, John, I did - actually, it was to install in a studio of a composer who is doing some work for me. He has been doing pretty good orchestration with a Roland keyboard (not sure what model) and filling in with session players when needed. I'm not a musician, so my 'likin' it' is based on what he's hearing -- he's LOVING the EWQLSO! No plans to upgrade to Pro (Platinum?). Check for a PM coming your way, John.

Anybody? I need to know if they're just not responding to people en masse, or if it's just me (wondering if my cookies weren't set up right in the browser when I tried to place the order). If some of you received your free disc, that would be good information. If none of you received it, that would be good info, too. Thanks.

Thanks.Dave, in my case (and I think for John Hernandez) the 'free' disc was enclosed with an order of Symphony Orchestra samples. EastWest is including it with all orders for certain of their products. When I ordered the EWQL Symphony Orchestra a couple of weeks ago I had no problem getting into their site to order, and got acknowledgement within a few hours, if I remember correctly. Product got here within about a week. Probably doesn't give you any usable information, but that's what happened here!! :)

Thanks for the info. I guess I just got the impression lots of guys were jumping on the free disc offer (in and of itself), but maybe no one did. :(

Thanks for the info. I guess I just got the impression lots of guys were jumping on the free disc offer (in and of itself), but maybe no one did. :(I'm sure some did, Dave. I didn't since I had one from ordering another of their products (didn't see another was worth $10 - ;) :) ). I just went into site and got as far as giving my CC #, then closed site. Not sure how far you got, or if you were asking for info and they never got back. They do have a posted phone # (310-271-6969 (M-F 9am-5pm Los Angeles time)), if getting info is as important as a LD charge.
Good luck!

The only info I wanted was the data on the CD-ROM. :) Thanks, I'll try again, I guess.
