Hi Bob

I was testing the video overlay funktion with a Matrox G550 running
in dvdmax mode, with the treatment you describe in another post.

What happens is, that the video on the secound monitor freeze, and won´t
update.
If I then turn to ntsc in the size window everything works fine.

Have you turned OFF the Scale Only On Page Flip option in the DVDMax... it must be OFF.

The overlay hardware must also be set correctly to output to a PAL format. Also, you may need to tell the viewer that you are using PAL for the render format in its options menu.

I have no PAL TV monitor to be able to try this so all PAL stuff has been designed blind with feedback from non-US users.

I was using a dual monitor matrox G550 card, without composit output.
so the overlay output monitor is a normal vga display running at 1280x1024
pix.

That's a whole different ball game... DirectDraw will not operate on the secondary monitor... and drawing the video on the computer monitor is cpu intensive... different than the overlay which is a hardware scaling circuit that sizes in hardware and outputs to a TV output.

If you want to do video out to a monitor, use a TV monitor on the composite or SVideo output from the Matrox... then use the overlay render option... its a much better way to get full scale video on a screen than trying to size up the viewer on a secondary monitor.
