Hi all.
I am looking to put together a new PC to run SAW. I was wondering if there would be any reason to avoid choosing one of the new motherboards that utilize the newish Intel 915 chipset and GMA900 integrated graphics solution. I have read previously that it is always advisable to go with a dedicated graphics card for DAWs, although I'm not sure exactly the reason...is it so that there is no CPU load to draw the graphics, leaving all the power available for the audio processing?

Anyway, SAW is very low in terms of CPU load, correct? If so, would it be perfectly okay to go with integrated graphics and not have to worry about buying a separate graphics card?

I am also looking at some SFF barebone PCs by Shuttle...e.g. :

Once again, the board in this uses the 915 chipset and offers integrated graphics...Any reason to stay away from something like this?

Best regards,
Hassan,
Sydney.

I am using a barebone IDEQ200T, the motherbord use intels 865 chipset and graphics.
I can only say that it runs very well, eventhough the waveform update when
zooming in and out in a dense session is a little slow.

On my office labtop with a ATI9600 graphics card build in, the waveform update are more tight.
