Donnie, Thought you should know so you can defend yourself. There is a nasty discussion about you on http://sactalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=516 . I didn't tell you this, I don't want to be a part of the mud slinging. Take care -
Hey Donnie, We just implemented SAC at my church. I have some questions regarding the tablet you are using as a remote. I am wondering what vendor you made your purchase from. Also, are you able to run it on battery power? It looks like many of them have bad batteries. Are batteries still available at a decent price? It sounds like you are very happy with this unit, so I am interested. Thank you for your many posts! Cliff
Hi Donnie, I couldn't find a way to post a followup on the facebook discussion about the ADA8000. The Transformer in the picture is the stock ADA8000 Transformer. No power supply work was done except to replace the Voltage Regulator. Replacing the internal transformer or modifying the ADA's in general is a poor idea. If one dies, you can't just drop in a replacement unless you have an already modified spare sitting around. Its much simply to lower the voltage to the AC input which accomplishes the exact some thing, only then you can take any stock ADA8000 and put it online.
Geeze...I built that thing a couple years ago. I do remember that getting the cam locks was a pain. I'm pretty sure I got some of them via an eBay vendor. The tough thing to find were the camlock receivers mounted at the top of the distro. Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/CAMLOCK-CONNECTO...item3a51d68ca3 Now remember that gender is very important here. You surely don't want to purchase incorrect genders. Before I get into more detail about that, how much electrical experience do you have? Regards, Donnie Frank
I hate to be an idiot.. but where did you get your camlocks?? I can only find one place online and no local place will get them for less than 30$ for the mini 150 amp ones..
