Fixed Latency??? Never saw that before, my system shows only drumagog as a single vst device...
AHHH... Here it is
version 4.03 (1/17/2006):
New "Fixed Latency" Plugin added:
Drumagog now has two plugins to choose from when inserting onto a track: "Drumagog" and "Drumagog (Fixed Latency)". The fixed latency version is designed for use in hosts which have Automatic Plugin Delay Compensation (such as Pro Tools HD and Steinberg products). If you own one of these hosts, use the new "Fixed Latency" version for better compatibility
Guess i should update more! or at least watch my emails!
from drumagogs site:
Q: Why do I see two plugins listed - "Drumagog" and "Drumagog (Fixed Latency)"?

My guess is that fixed latency whould work fine with SAW?

First.. do you have the "Pro" version of Drumagog?
There is a problem I discovered when trying to use Drumagog with SawStudio as a midi trigger. (It works in "normal mode" as a drum replacer just fine). When attempting to use it as a "virtual" instrument the choice of midi input is "greyed out" when clicking on the blue triangle. I reported this problem to Bob and also Rim at Drumagog. I relayed information back and forth between them and Bob explained the reason it was not working which I forwarded to Rim.
Just yesterday I received an email (sent to all registered users) from Drumagog which claimed there is a new update version 4.08:
- Added ability to double-click on control values for more precise input
- Fixed problem with stereo version under Pro Tools
- Fixed MIDI input problem with Pro Tools 7
- Added more resolution to the pitch control for finer pitch changes
- Fixed rare crashing issue under Pro Tools
- Fixed Pro Tools compatibility with sessions using older Drumagog versions.
The "fixed MIDI input problem" made me wonder if they fixed the problem I reported with SawStudio.. however they only mention PT in the email. I havent had time to download it yet and see if this is a fix for us SS'ers too.
I'll report back once I have done that.

Thanks guys
Hmmm.... I saw this but assumend the "Fixed latency" version meant that it had a set latency that didn't change so that you could adjust this manually; a different meaning for "Fixed". That's one of the problems with written language; defining the meanings of the words being said in order to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
On the other hand... Darn... I guess I should read the manuals (or at least the release notes!) .
Well, I'm using this extensively in a project that I'm just winding up and the other version seems to be compensated for in SAWStudio. What I do notice though is that sometimes I have to start an EDL twice to get this happening... which is not a problem for me.
I'll have to try the other version and see if this is better. Anyone tried this yet and able to confirm the outcome of the two different versions?
thanks,
Perry
Hey Perry, do you ever find you get a drum misfire when you start playback? Ever find a way to stop it?
I always build the mix down of the Drumagog track... this allows me to slide it perfectly back into sync with the original track... and it allows me to see any misfires and copy and paste... and I have noted that depending on the attack of the original drum, each drum replacement may be later than others... so it allows me to fix whatever I need...
This also allows me to then blend the original and the replacement in the mix for a more natural sound... I keep the Drumagog blens set to 100% when I build the replacement track down.
This method also takes the worry out of any differences that may happen from one playback to the next.

Here is the update I promised... Unfortunately the latest update of Drumagog (4.08) does not correct the problem described below. Didn't work before in SS 3.9 and not working with SS 4.0 either.
When clicking the Blue Triangle the top three choices are still grey
"Set Soft Synth Midi-In Port"
"Assign Soft Synth Multi-Out Chains"
"Disable Soft Synth"
Soooo... Drumagog will work in normal drum replacement mode but not as a VST instrument. :(
