Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
1. If SAC loads OK, then create a new session with TapeIt inserted into a channel
2. Save the session - call it "First"
3. Then exit SAC
4. Re-launch SAC, load the previously saved "First" session file - and see what happens.
5. If SAC loads OK, then create another new session with TapeIt inserted into a channel
6. Save the session - call it "Second"
7. Then exit SAC
8. Re-launch SAC, load the "Second" session file.
9. If OK, then, load the "First " session file.
10. If all is OK, then the issue must be with the shutdown.mxs file. -> No.
Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
Tomy,
I am really not following you here!
You stated, "10. If all is OK, then the issue must be with the shutdown.mxs file. -> No."!
So, you performed the first nine steps all with errors...correct? ... not correct? What is it?
Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
Hi,
all works out fine.
But the conclusion is wrong.

Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
Tomy,
If, as you state, "But the conclusion is wrong"... why - specifically, is that conclusion wrong?
PS: I am not following you on the latter as well!
Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
The problem is not related to a specific mix-session file, but it seems to be related in some way with the tapeIt plugin.
I assume that SAC fails to initialize the 'handle' of the tapeIt plugin which is present in those files. So it assigns the control of the plug-in randomly to an other plugin. It looks like SAC just duplicates the first entry of the fx-list and tries to match the plugIn settings of tapeIt to this plugin, resulting in a 'corrupt settings' error.
Deleting these entry created by SAC will delete the entry but is not able to remove the erratic-plug in (because of the faulty handle).
When you leave SAC (or when SAC tries to end the current session in order to load a new (or just the same) mixfile, SAC crashes. I interpreted this in a wrong way by assuming its a problem of opening the file, but it seems to be a problem during the closing of a mixsession (while the mix-session file saves without a problem). SAC crashes because the handle is not valid or the access is denied.
Currently I can not tell the initial reason for this behavior. I've been working with this mix-session file for a long time, with the plugIn assigned. But I did not use the tapeIt plug in during the last sessions.

Re: SAC crash when trying to load a mix file
Tomy,
Well...I am done.
So, I am hopeful that someone else will chime-in.
Interestingly, I have not been experiencing any of the issues you seem to be experiencing.
