Now the general consensus is that they suck, even I agree with that:D and that having worked in the 24 bit realm some 'herbert' is going to kill all our hard work.
So I was wondering, is there such a thing as an MP3 emulator vst? something I could strap onto the pre-fadder output track that then messes with the sound to mimic what will happen at various depths of conversion.
my thinking is that I could then correct any obvious anomalies before converting down, thereby giving my larger filled clients a range of pre-converted tracks rather than let them mess it up.
Before anybody 'deepends' on me, this would be as well as a wave file suitably dithered and a 24 bit wav incase they want somebody else to mess with it afterwards
