    Tenor to baritone

Hi, all. I'm working on a new audiobook, with a '40s hard-boiled detective as the main character and narrator.

The actor who did the dialog work was very good dramatically. However, he's more of...

    Re: Audio file anomalies

    Hi, Dell.

I'm a little unclear about whether the narration and music are individual segments of the audio, or whether they're mixed (music underlaying the voice).

    You say the music portions...

    Keystroke to solo track

Is there a keyboard setting to solo the currently selected track? I do a lot of that, and a single keypress would be much easier than moving the mouse to the solo button.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks. ...

    Save Library view directory links?

    Hello, all.

Maybe I'm just not doing this right, but I checked the manual and it appears what I need doesn't seem to be possible. Or is it ...?

I have an F-Key setup with five Library windows...

Thanks, all. Never knew these capabilities existed in the View menu. I know ... RTFM!

    Solved my problem.

Help. Replace file - name changed

I thought I knew how to do this, but now I can't remember. Or maybe I just THOUGHT I could, but it can't be done? Anyway ...

I've edited a dialog file with many, many edits. However, I found...

Insert note or comment on multi-track

    Hi, there.

Somewhere in the distant past, I think I remember a setting (or maybe a plug-in) that allows me to insert a note or comment on the multi-track (or maybe in the regions list?) as a...

    Re: Need help: pan automation

Thanks! As I mentioned, I don't remember how I did this in the past ... but this works, so it's probably what I did.

Now if this sequence of mouse/keystrokes were only automate-able. Like to an...

Right. That's the first thing I tried. 'F' does a fade down.

    Need help: pan automation

Well, I guess my memory is fading faster than I imagined. I'll swear I knew how to do this, but the method now escapes me.

Let's say in a vocal track, I set a pan position at, say, 10db left of...

That was it!! I was beginning to suspect the anti-virus, but I would have been dumbfounded as to what to do. And I use ESET also! (Actually, I run ESET Smart Security, not NOD32, but...

    Re: HELP! SawStudio64 not responding

Okay, so I installed the latest RME drivers and did a flash update. Set to ASIO. No change.

I booted into Safe Mode, but that was futile, because in Safe Mode the RME drivers don't load. So,...

    Re: HELP! SawStudio64 not responding

    Sorry.

It's Windows 10 version 1803 (updated a year ago). The sound card is an RME HDSPe, set to the analog input/output. SS64 v1_0g (although I tried going back to 1_0f, and that didn't fix...

    HELP! SawStudio64 not responding

All of a sudden, SS 64 is broken. It starts, and I can load a file into the MultiTrack. But it won't play. The 'Play' icon sometimes flashes and stops, sometimes stays engaged, but the MT cursor...

Re: SAWStudio (and Plugins) 64 Bit Bug Reports!

    Okay, here's something odd.

If I open SS 64 and import an EDL created in SS 32, it imports fine. Save the session as SS 64.

If I then try to Blend another EDL created in SS 32, I get an...

  17. Re: thank you! and question on Native plugin 64bit API

I emailed Anwida Support last week, asking if their plug-ins were available in 64-bit versions. They replied that they are not. However, I didn't ask whether they would consider porting them to...

  19. Re: How to save the position of context-driven windows

Thanks, Dave. Good explanation, and I think you're right. It's such a minor annoyance, it's not a big deal.

And using Bob's suggestion is easy enough. So, problem taken care of.

    Thanks to...
  20. Re: How to save the position of context-driven windows

    Paul -
I understand that. My question is, how can I save it to a context window to an F-key file so that it shows up at the same location and size in later sessions. Or is that even possible?

  21. How to save the position of context-driven windows

Here's something I've been wondering about since the advent of SAWStudio.

Contolling the position and layout of most SAWStudio windows is straightforward, and can be saved in an F-key file.

Re: SAWStudio (and Plugins) 64 Bit Bug Reports!

Hi, Bob. To test it out, I loaded 64 onto my Alienware laptop, which has Intel graphics video.

You're correct, the progress readout works fine on BuildMix.

But ... when I imported a WAV file...

Re: SAWStudio (and Plugins) 64 Bit Bug Reports!

Okay, tried it with a different mono wav file. Fresh session, no plug-ins.

Build Mix happens the same (although faster). (See my previous post - appears to be the same.)

    I also noticed that...
