Re: A return after a hot minute (almost a decade)

I have not used MOTU so cannot compare based on experience. I do currently use the RME Digiface USB. It is compact and works well with up to four ADA8200's. RME drivers are ace.
  2. Re: Need Ideas for connecting 24-ch of analog preamps to non-pci interfaces

You are correct Dave. I missed that one, apologies for that. Yes with that in mind it seems indeed that the addition of an RME Digiface USB is a simple and straight forward solution. It is a lovely...
  3. Re: Need Ideas for connecting 24-ch of analog preamps to non-pci interfaces

Agreed. I built mine into my pc case so it does not take any additional space in the rack. It sits in the CD bay area. Works a treat, could not be happier with a successor of my old Digiface.
    But...
  4. Re: Need Ideas for connecting 24-ch of analog preamps to non-pci interfaces

There are PCIe - PCI converters that would allow you to run a PCI card in a PCIe slot. Not sure how well this works with sound cards. I ordered one of these things when I was in a somewhat similar...

    Re: Dual Adat interface

Funny to see there is at least one thing in pro audio that is cheaper in Europe. I believe I paid between €300 and €400 for mine, and believe it is well worth it. Great little device.

    Another...

Re: SAW TCP/IP and audio transmission

Yes you are right about that. However, I interpreted the original question not as a feature to route audio over the internet. The question as I read it is about "streaming" on a local network from...

Re: New PC for audio: small and with PCI slot?

I found a decent SFF desktop PC and a Digiface USB interface. Both lightly used in very good condition and the price was right. The PC has no PCI slots and is somewhat larger than the old box. Not...

Re: New PC for audio: small and with PCI slot?

Nope, it was dead indeed when I initially attempted to boot the PC after a period of not being used. I replaced the battery with a fresh one. While I was at it I updated the BIOS with the latest and...

Re: New PC for audio: small and with PCI slot?

Hi Tomy, I am not sure if this PC's bios has a section where the temperatures can be read, I can check that out. But I am very sure that the cause is not high temperature. The processor is cool to...

Re: New PC for audio: small and with PCI slot?

Hi John, no unfortunately this has nothing to do with dust. I routinely open my pc's to vacuum the dust out. This pc is clean inside. Also no virus or malware. This is an older XP PC that has never...

New PC for audio: small and with PCI slot?

After being busy with other things in life for a few years I have recently started getting back into music and audio. I needed some audio mixing so out came my trusty old system with 3x ADA, an RME...

    Re: Behringer ADA8200

If I read Steven's post correctly, he currently has the problem with ADA8000's. He wonders if it could have anything to do with their reputation of suffering from heat build up. And whether the new...

Re: VST MP3player working inside SAC

You can with some soundcards. With the HDSP and newer RME cards you can use TotalMix to do virtual loopbacks. It does cost you channels on your input device. On the other hand there is no need for...

Yes, the underlined part is relevant. Think about it.

Two things are relevant here. Starting with one that is simple to grasp. Are you familiar with the generic Windows sounds? The asterisk,...

Re: The Montarbo SAC controller revealed.

About a year or so ago I have put two of those arcade buttons in a box with the guts of a USB game controller, for use with the SAC signal switch. Perhaps they have done the same? I have to say from...

Re: Losing my mind? SAC 3.1???

In my experience a singer needs confidence to sing well. If a touch of reverb gives the singer confidence, then that is what the monitor mix needs, for that singer.

Re: problems with RME HSDP 9652 and ADA8000

The RME cards are very well made, they rarely break. I'd do a little more troubleshooting if I were you. Good thing to connect just one ADA8000 and work from there.

    There is a four-position...

    Re: Feelin' stupid!

    That is correct.
If you plug in an individual input, the main 1/2 inputs are muted for that channel. The individual inputs are not balanced, just plain L+R+grd on TRS.

    I don't have a studio....
