oh yeah! I never use the W Mixer :-)
shift+lftclk also works to label channels in the Z Mixer folks :-)
as far as manually labelling tracks/ channels: I would lean on copy>paste to keep syntax exact to eliminate/limit typos

Wow, I guess there are less than ten of us! Yikes
In my usage: No matter the application (.exe), I'm from windows camp and seldom, if ever, open a data file before opening the .exe
I don't...
Is this Tascam 24 sync capable?
You know, I have never used a control surface with a DAW other than Reason.
...and that was long ago; it just is so much set up for not much gain IME
And I have...
I didn't...I was too embroiled with continuing the audio work...I did have numerous multiple instances of the same plugs in my big film job I'm still working on...turning them off and getting them...
OK, I will just chime in and agree with Dell here and say I have had to completely abandon any JUCE based VSTs in SAW.
I have several years worth (over a decade, actually) of Acon Digital...
yes, Dave, penny has dropped your end :-P
That is exactly what I'm doing
well. it is actually it is very easy because I save VST presets named to reasonably match the ini pointer
I don't see...
Again, just to further confirm, I've been using this strategy with impunity and working great!
a massive time saver
Dave, you don't; presets are saved in an edl as we all know
so user has to backwards engineer this
nevertheless, it does work
it's just a time saver
rather than stabbing in the dark at what...
Thanks for that Dell!
I know I have said this before here regarding metaplugin;
Using the ini method,
I have found that if I create .ini files with custom names to call vst .dll, that:
it is possible to modify the...
Thanks Dave for your inputs :-D
I love the way this thread has gone...
for 20 years , you think you "understand" something...
lo and behold, there's more to it!!!
Let me just say, grouping on...
any screen shots?
well, I'm not going back to 32-bit, so....
I use it in every session....there is no easier way to get tracks next to each other. I always want my Main Output track wherever I am working...along with subs/busses (out tracks) and whatever...
Very nice round-up!
Also, it might should probably be noted in your round-up that:
shift-left click on an open Track Group where tracks are not currently adjacent (next to one-another) will...
ok, thanks for this!
indeed, because this is all text
if we were all in the same room at the same time, might get to the bottom of it more quickly
alas...that won't be happening
a video tutorial would be helpful
...
Yes, this is the daddy
for example, my current job has no sequential track/ channel numbers all out of order
if I Shift-left click while in a group, I will default order 1-128 which could be a...
ROTF!!!
Hey, man! This is how we learn
I spread plenty of misinformation as well....
don't beat yourself up about it, you were mostly right to start...and got me tinkering
hmmmm...it's a bit confusing
yes, group preset list is the same labels in every window MT, Z, F, Ex, W
but there are different selections possible in each window
but what do we hear? the MT?...
Dave, do you have an explanation as to what is the purpose/ functionality of Label groups? Is there a label naming benefit or something?
Or is it just for selecting words rather than numbers?
...
hmmm, couldn't you just create three groups for that?
group 1 is 1
group 2 is 2
group 3 is 1+2
not only would you be soloing and ganging those groups
in the MT you could shift-click the groups...
OK, I just started using these Track Group presets in my workflow, and it is a MASSIVE time saver!!!
thanks so much for this discussion guys!
I look forward understanding it deeper going forward
no, either Number selected or Label selected TRACKs in the MT window :-D
you copied and pasted it here- see my bolding of the text:
There are a different set of instructions in the...
