  1. Re: Background process stepping on editing operations

ok, maybe the topic is old and already irrelevant, but let me say that I had the same problem before.
The bad thing was not even the time lag, but the fact that if I make another command until the...

    Re: SAW Question

    Bob,
Converting from mp3 is not corelated with exporting in mp3. For example, if we have to import some mp3 files, the software can convert them to wav, using the audio folder of the project or the...
  7. Re: Value of an Expensive Preamp in the recording process

Dave, you are right. But... Many times we have to deal with a signal with a huge dynamic range. In this case the good preamp shows it's quality.
I think about the headroom more like the possibility...

  9. Re: Value of an Expensive Preamp in the recording process

The preamp is a very critical part in the recording chain. Cheap preamps don't have enough headroom, especially with sources with big dynamic range.

    Re: 0 db fader level

AFAIK Pro Tools in it's early implementations was written with integer math of the mixer. And the book I took it from was from this years... Now they are 32 floating point.
    Or maybe it's a myth?
