Not just the screen saver. If the screen goes to sleep for what ever reason Win10 either lowers the priority of the running processes or elevates/runs some other process that will stomp on the audio...

    Re: LGA2011 builds?

12 cores doesn't buy you anything with SAW/SAC. Those extra cores will be functionally wasted.

Its also a power hog at 115W.

I'm not sure I understand the point of building a new system on...

Is there a reason for picking a random Chinese motherboard?

Even if the quality if the hardware is stellar, its meaningless without good BIOS and Driver support.

    Additionally if you have...

    Re: SOT: Combo Users

I use SAW/SAC both in the studio and live for FOH/MON/REC and as SAC as the front end for SAW for traditional studio recording.

Re: Saw Studio vs Lynx Aurora(n)

There will be some variation in the preamps but likely none that would actually impact sound quality. Every preamp will have some of its own character and in that sense you may be better off keeping...
  10. Re: SAC new version release finally cracks Win 7, 8 and 10 performance bogdown.

Do you have the screen saver or screen blanking running. If so, that process will stomp all over the audio engine.

    Re: Dropped buffers again

In order for "Force Realtime Priority" to actually work in Win10 SAC will have to be running as administrator or you have to use a utility like "Process Lasso".

    You can manual set processor...

Re: Saw Studio vs Lynx Aurora(n)

I don't think you'll have any issues with any of the RME gear.

As an alternative I've had good success with the newer MOTU gear. The 8M is 8CH preamp/AD and DA in 1U box with individual Channel...

  14. Re: Airwindows vst plugins. Is anyone using them?

There is no installer. You should be able to just copy the .dll file to the VST folder.

I see the same issue. I tried a random sample of 10 to 15 of the 32bit VSTs and they all have the same...
  15. Re: OT: Recommended On-line Disk Imaging Solution?

Because they don't actually guarantee that your files will be readable.

What actually is being guaranteed? If the backup isn't readable what is their responsibility and what are they promising?

  17. Re: OT: Recommended On-line Disk Imaging Solution?

Few of them actually provide the one thing...
  18. Re: Add plugin to multiple tracks at the same time

A lot is going to depend on what your trying to accomplish

    1. You could add the same plug-in as an effect to individual channels
    2. You could add the plug-in as aux fed effect to any selected...

    Re: Dropped buffers again

Yes, my recommendation would be to turn off "pro balance".

It may not have any affect on your dropped buffers, but its also a running process that really doesn't need to be there.

    Also note if...
