    Re: Lo-fi micing

EQ that rolls off highs and lows is common for making an over-the-telephone sound. I've done that a lot for radio spots. More extreme EQ and maybe some distortion could work for a bullhorn emulation....
  2. Re: Can several multitrack regions be selected as a group and moved in one operation?

Isn't there also one where you click on one region, then alt-click on another one, and all regions in-between (to the right and down from the first one) get selected?
  3. Re: Can several multitrack regions be selected as a group and moved in one operation?

Enter select mode. Click the first region in the group you want. Then ctrl-click all the rest one at a time. You can even toggle a selected region again and again by ctrl-clicking it, again and...

    Re: Ducking as an effect.

Pop/Rock radio stations typically smash pretty hard with a multiband compressor like an Optimod. I've heard what seems like a full-volume intro get pushed way to the back when a bass or kick drum...
  5. Re: Plugins: why "demo" verson suddenly appearing?

    Have you tried DXMan?

    http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/Audio/dxman/Freeware.htm

I just went on a ten-minute odyssey discovering where my "Sony" software products are supported these...
  6. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

What he said. I'd also add that if you have the SF View open and not overlapping with the MT or other windows, it becomes less of an issue if you happen to "go there" by accident, as it doesn't get...

Re: cursor flashes in Win 10

Bear in mind, Dell, that this thread is about a graphics-specific issue, which seems to me to have some potential overlap with gaming.

Re: cursor flashes in Win 10

Interesting. When I saw this thread I remembered that the cursor flashed when I moved to Windows 10, "but does it still?" I thought to myself. I opened SAW and checked it. Yes, it does. But I haven't...
  9. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Only one I know of is to create an F-key view with the SF view closed. Or perhaps that is already the case for you. If so, just refresh your view with an F-key tap.

Another option would be to turn...

Re: Another quick Win 10 issue

Apparently, there are lots of how-to's out there.
  11. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

I don't remember any tweaks specifically for SAW Pro. I'm suggesting you use one of the later tweaks guides (for SAWStudio) to tame the graphics behavior of OSs that didn't exist in the SAW Pro days....
  12. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Yeah, my bad. It hadn't occurred to me that it was a shade-specific label. :p
  13. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

And the top button is called "Multitrack Link Zone," so I guess TLZ in my shade is meant to stand for " 'track Link Zone." Looks like an M was going to take up too much space. :D

    Actually, I...
  14. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Must be differences in the shades we're using. That hadn't occurred to me.

Do you have your F-key Views programmed to show different channel strip sections on the Z Mixer? If not, how do you get...
  15. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

In the MultiTrack View to the left of the time readout, there's a button labeled "TLZ." Click on that and you get a pop-up listing all channels/tracks. Select one and it becomes the...
  16. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Still: you want 'em, but you can't remember 'em?

This is why Bob created the TLZ buttons, methinks. Sorry to hear about your mouse contra-indication issues. :(

    And you'd think that...
  17. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

You say you like hotkeys, but then you say you can't remember them. I'm afraid you lost me.

With 24 different F-key views, I would think you could get by without conflicts. Just 8 of...
  18. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Rather than scrolling the channel strip, have you tried using the "TLZ" buttons in the upper left of the MT view to focus particular channel strip sections of the Z mixer view? If you don't have that...
  19. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

FWIW, I think Bob's right that in the long run you'd prefer SAWStudio. There's always that learning curve, though. SS is plenty fast for me on voice-over editing. I create an F-key view that's one...

You could also try something like the "chainer-type" VST discussed here:

Phillip -- did you ever check this puppy out?
  23. Re: fyi: SAC videos from Make Your Own Sound on YouTube

In case you don't know -- you can move mixer channels in SAWStudio by moving the associated MT tracks; if the correct option is selected on the Mixer/Navigation Links sub-menu, the mixer channels...

Where are you looking at LIVE mode inputs? I believe you can select the same stereo device at the top of two mixer channels, then select the L mono side for one and the R mono side for the other...
