    Lo-fi micing

I'm working on a tune with someone who wants to do the vocals something like through a bullhorn. He is probably thinking of sound through a particular a low quality mic - not what I strive for. When...
  2. Re: Can several multitrack regions be selected as a group and moved in one operation?

Thanks Andy, I wasn't aware of those key strokes. My SS rig is in winter mode--which means I'm not going to start it now as I have to light a fire to stand working in that room.
    I assume Ctrl-Home...
  3. Re: Can several multitrack regions be selected as a group and moved in one operation?

hit s. You can click and drag... areas. Read about select mode in the manual. I don't know all the things you can do with it. Also my drag technique might be flawed as I sometimes have an unselected...
  4. OT Video creation how to determine what you are allowed (or not) to use

Some of you may be familiar with putting together videos with news, historical or other content. How do you know what you can use?

    Ducking as an effect.

I heard a Kinks song on the radio today I think it was 'where have all the good times gone' and I was noticing the rhythm guitar ducking a few db until for a couple of seconds after vocal and lead...
  6. Re: Problem Installing Graphics Cards (Sorry for long post)

Noise? Physical from the computer? Video?

Audio Stream? Try turning up buffer sizes for your interface (and if this worked, I would think your 2 card version of saw can handle less of a load)....
  7. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

Now that I know about the t key, I think I'll try turning off doubleclick again too. As far as clicking off the side of the soundfile, a lot of time you wind up with a pleated effect, it kind of...
  8. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

I forgot to mention deleting the new middle region. Not only that, I would realize that I wasted an extra two seconds nudging the cursor left and hitting delete, so the second time I did it, it would...
  9. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

There are a lot of things you can do. One is get just in front of the sample hit z then k. Do same just after then you can shift drag the regions together. There are a variety of keystrokes that let...
  10. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

They are buttons on the upper left edge of the multi-track that let you jump the scroll to various portions of the Zmixer: Eq, Dynamics, fader....

I just alt-h(ed) on them. They are actually...
  11. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

    Hotkeys as in keyboard bindings.

As I said, I gravitate to a mostly multitrack view with the first Fkeys for maybe 1,2,3,5,10 visible tracks. If fkeys could made to have limited functionality so...
  12. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

I've never liked using them. I'm partial to hot-keys (don't think there's enough for that) or maybe the good ones are used up (...and let me know if they are there and I'm just overlooking them)....
  13. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

On a nostalgic note, SawPro. That was the best. It was also the interface that I learned to navigate better than any since.

It took me a while to get accustom to SS's key-bindings... Studio does...
  14. Re: Why doesn't SAW Studio Lite remember my audio hardware?

I had a similar issue with when I had Behringer xair18 drivers and presonus driver on my machine at the same time. This was a while ago, so I am a bit fuzzy on the particulars. My impression was that...

    Re: Anwida Plugin repeated authorization

I never found the installer - or the activator. But after a couple of false starts, I got it going. Here is how:

I copied the anwida plugins, associated files and sub-directory from an old SStudio...

    Re: Anwida Plugin repeated authorization

My guess is that that is the one. I only had the NaTive Modulation Pack - now to look though the stack of old drives. I recently went though this looking for something else. I wound up throwing away...

    Re: Anwida Plugin repeated authorization

    Now I have a problem

Who knows the installer file name?

I've built a new machine and have to re-install anwida myself. I have it - just a matter of finding it.

    The webpage is as unresponsive...

    Re: Overhead Mic Suspension

I have a couple of approaches I am experimenting with, and intend to build in a bit of vibration protection. I'll report the results.

By coincidence, I saw the Levin Brothers at the Turning Point...

    Overhead Mic Suspension

I have a drum set that is recording nicely - so the mics that are used usually stay deployed each having its ziplock bag pulled over when not in use. It is kind of tucked in a corner and hard to...

    Re: Analog mixer suggestions

I wound up getting Dave's find, the presonus AR16 USB.

The moral of the story is if you get a new machine, do your research and make sure your is is compatible with your gear. In my case it was...

    Re: OT: Valhalla Reverbs

I am enjoying his 'what is reverb' video - although I had to take a break as it is more tv than I can stand in one sitting. For some reason or other I was reminded of my favorite video:

    Re: Metronome Replacement for SAW64?

I doubt you can get a consistantly aligned sync if you are using a non-native plugin.

Didn't know about that. Very quick.

    Re: Metronome Replacement for SAW64?

Until there is something native, your best bet is to do something external and record it to a track.

Also, I was just looking at the manual for the Midi-Work-Station addon which has interesting...
