Re: Anyone using Antelope Orion 32+ Gen3?

I don’t understand the love for the 8200 units. They are ok, but not great. I’d use them for an in-ear rig, but not for FOH. Maybe I would if I were exclusively doing small gigs with speakers on...

Cool. Just curious. I really wish there was a 64 bit driver for it

I have one of those cards. I don’t understand what you are doing with the eprom. Please explain. Is your card malfunctioning? Are you adding something?

Dude, I like your enthusiasm, but it’s my opinion that you are enthusiastically hitching your team to a carriage that you can no longer get parts for.

    Re: OT: Mini-ITX Motherboards

Curious, why the i3? I've never been super happy with i3 performance.

    Re: Moving to Dante thoughts

I switched to Dante. I bought a card from the AMP developer. He has a custom driver that enables stable performance down to 0/8 buffers. I run 0/16 just to be safe. It's analog level fast!

    Re: Monitoring

When I was mixing bands with SAC I used subgroups, then I would send them to whatever outputs I needed. Main L/R, sub, house feed, video feed etc.

    Re: OT: SAC Overview

I'm confused. Are you just now figuring out that you can put your rig side stage and run remotely?

    Re: Put your hand up!

I understood your point, and I mostly agree with you. I was just clarifying that you can use plugins with consoles, at least most of the digital ones. I like the flexibility that SAC and AMP offer as...

    Re: Put your hand up!

I use my Soundcraft Expression 3 sometimes and I use Waves Multirack with it.

    Re: Put your hand up!

If my ITB rig were ever going to be that large I'd most likely just get one of the many great digital consoles available.

This is a great point. It is why I haven't upgraded to the latest version and can't see myself doing so in the foreseeable future.

    Re: SAC active crossover

2/128 would be an unacceptable amount of latency for the bands I work with. The highest I dare go is 1/64 with SAC.

    Re: groups and reverbs

There are a lot of free and inexpensive verbs out there. Valhalla is a good one. The Kjaerhus stuff is great and really light weight on the processor. Your only limit of instances will be your...

    Re: Motu STAGE-B16

The biggest drawback for me is that you can't manually adjust the mic gains from the front panel. I don't like the idea of being tethered to software gain adjustments. It would feel different if the...

Re: Steven Slate - VIRTUAL MIX RACK

I use Chainer to run some waves plugs that report latency. I only use it on outputs for things like eq's and multi-comps.

Re: 8-ch AD converter for XP?

Pick up a used M-Audio Profire Lightbridge. They are cheap and effective. You'll get 32 channels of light pipe in and out via firewire. Drivers are solid. You will not get preamps, only light pipe...

Re: Focusrite Saffire 56 vs. ADA8000 report...

The 8200 units do not suffer from the same power supply heat issue. They run cool.
