  1. Re: What is a good tablet for running SAC Remote?

They are not cheap, but I've had the best luck with MS Surface Pro units.
Bad side is, it's Windows 8/10.

    Lenovo Flex 3 15"

    I just bought a Lenovo Flex 3 (15") 2-in-1 tablet/laptop.
    It's running Windows 10.
When I loaded SAC 4.1 on it, I get strange behavior from the guy. when I open up the monitor F window (at least,...

Re: Monitor view cranks up the load factor

Yes, after lots of experimentation, I've determined that the real culprit is running the 3 Mackie units. Without MIDI control, performance is fine. But with the three Mackie units, screen redraws...

Re: Monitor view cranks up the load factor

    XP Service Pack 3.
Also, I'm finding that video refresh of the F Mixer is horribly slow while I have the monitor F Mix up.
    edit (after some more testing):
Actually, the screen redraw issue is...

    Creating a latch.... ???

I selected two channels, right-clicked on the bar, tried to select latch 02. The system froze up for a long time waiting for the text input. Never could create the latch.

    Yet another problem:

The select button isn't synchronized well with the F Mixer (note: F mixer is selected in Navigation).

Monitor view cranks up the load factor

Bringing up a monitor view on my host adds about 20% to the load. Is this expected? This doesn't seem right (it's not like we're adding any additional audio processing, are we?)

    Yet another problem:

If you cut the power to a Mackie unit, or unplug the MIDI cable, it crashes SAC.

Re: Problem with Mackie control surfaces

Okay, I think I found the problem.

In the MIDI device selection, the Mackie MCU Pro shows four ports:

    USB Audio
    USB Audio [2]
    USB Audio [3]
    USB Audio [4]

If you plug in a second USB->MIDI...

    Problem with Mackie control surfaces

So I hooked up two of my Mackie MCU XT units along with my Mackie MCU Pro. Here are some problems I've encountered:

    1) Master fader doesn't seem to work.
    2) Scribble strip info is being copied to...
  13. Re: Old SAC version and 4.0 on the same computer?

Question: If I have a problem at a show and I need to downgrade, will the mix files created with 4.0 load and operate properly in 3.1?

Re: Now that 4.0 has arrived...

I really want the ability to create layers and banks like you find on modern digital boards (e.g., iLive). Yes, support for more Mackies will be a great quick fix for problems I've endured for...

Re: Reading a BCF-2000 from an Arduino Board

The device I'm using won't have a PC built into it. Providing USB host control on a micro controller is a *lot* of work (though it looks like the Teensy++ micro controller might be able to do this)....

Re: Reading a BCF-2000 from an Arduino Board

The big problem I'm finding on my (admittedly old and dirty) BCF-2000 is the fact that the lowest speed I can run the faders at (without stalling them) is still too fast for a PID algorithm (which...

    Re: MIDI File Format?

Mackie gives me nine channels. I want 102.

How hard would it be to create a generic midi template that provides the following:

    1. 102 faders (i.e., all the general ins and outs on SAC).
    2....

    Re: MIDI File Format?

Add scribble strip support and that would be perfect; though if it had the possibility of a wide mixer control based on a "select" button, that would be fantastic, too.
