    Re: About Controllers!

If it can do the HUI or Mackie Control protocols, you should be able to use it with SAW. Maybe you could switch MIDI ports to toggle from controlling one to the other?

    Re: Video Overlay Output

Thanks, everyone. I'm starting to think that I went from a triple-head Matrox (750 sounds right) to the dual-head i7 GPU, at which point I disconnected the TV and just worked from my second monitor...

    Re: Video Overlay Output

Sounds right, Warren. But what, then, when I went to the i7's GPU? I'm starting to wonder if I skipped the TV at that point. It was shortly before I moved to Massachusetts (and haven't...

    Re: Video Overlay Output

Nosir. Never heard of such a thing.

When I first started using SAW for audio-for-video, I had a Matrox video card (whatever happened to Matrox, anyway?), which, I think, had a separate output for...
  5. Re: Thoughts on aux-returns vs. individual track FX deployment.

Yeah, I've played with that in the past. Never really did wrap my head around it. Need to read up on how it works. Glad it's workin' for ya.

    Re: Video Overlay Output

Thanks, guys. The TV has several different inputs. I either used HDMI or, more likely, VGA. The problem is I don't remember how I got signal to it. The computer only has the HDMI and DVI outs. Maybe...

    Re: Video Overlay Output

No video adapter card, no capture card. Just the two digital outs from the GPU on an i7-2600 chip/motherboard. Same system I'm still using, but I haven't hooked up a TV in years.

    It's crazy that I...

    Re: Video Overlay Output

Okay, but I must've somehow had three physical video connections, right? Monitor 1, monitor 2, and TV (for SAW video viewer). My motherboard only has two outputs: 1 DVI and 1 HDMI. Any thoughts on...

    Video Overlay Output

Boy, is this gonna sound dumb.

In my studio setup in Tucson (eight years ago) I had dual monitors for SAW and a big TV hung over them for SAW's dedicated Video Viewer overlay output. I'm still...
  10. Re: video track help - yes, I'm new to video

Scott, there are two options. One to extract audio to the video track in the MT and the other to extract it into the folder of your choice. Sounds like you used the latter option. If you don't...

    Re: OT: iZotope Holiday Bundle

It sure looks like the full versions for all the non-Elements bits. RE: stripped-back... yeah, I know. But if even just the noise reduction algo is improved over RX 7 Elements, I'll be a happy...

It's really cool, Robert. I'd love to dive in. Maybe one of these days...

You've done a marvelous job. Kudos.
  16. Re: Thoughts on aux-returns vs. individual track FX deployment.

Good point, Carl. I was thinking this would be used for a single source, but I guess that's what's in mind in the cases where I've heard of someone aux busing several sources to a compressor: so they...

    Re: Drivers for Apollo16

Tonight I've been reading up on UA Apollo threads, so I offer this here for future SAW/Apollo searchers: MM has said more recently that in order to get the ins and outs to be...

    Re: m/s encoder decoder recommendations

Naming convention? I may be out in left field here, but have you considered using the SAW INI pointer file approach to name the plugins whatever you like?
  19. Re: Thoughts on aux-returns vs. individual track FX deployment.

Reverbs (and sometimes delays) tend to go across aux buses so that several sources can share, thereby sounding like they're in the same acoustic space. When reverbs are bused, yes, you set them to...

Very cool. Still too much of a learning curve for me, though, I'm afraid. :p

    Re: OT: Behringer X-TOUCH ONE

    Stash! Long time no see!

Thanks for the report, very much. Can you tell me how deep it goes? I'm guessing fader, pan, solo. Some transport controls? What else? It'd be really cool if any...
  22. Re: Current Best Options for Hardware Controller

Very cool what Robert did. Not sure I'm quite that ambitious, though. :)
  23. Re: Current Best Options for Hardware Controller

Thanks, Phillip. I was hoping other knobs and sliders would be accessible. Are you saying such deeper control may/may not be supported by the hardware or by the DAW? And what about with SAW,...
  24. Current Best Options for Hardware Controller

Looks like the most recent discussion around here is a couple years old.

Can someone hip me to a current overview. What all can I expect out of a MIDI controller? Will it handle all of the...

    Re: OT: Behringer X-TOUCH ONE

Reviving an old thread. Anyone been using one of these with SAWStudio? Would love to hear your review. How are the HUI and Mackie Control implementations working with SAW and others? Fader feel?...
