Hi Bob, I know your feelings about analog consoles! :) Like I said above it's really more about integrating outboard gear than using a console for summing. My dream would be for SS to have a...
I'm getting up to speed with the SAC and SAC-Link capabilities. It looks like it does what I was looking for (and then some!), enabling outputting SS tracks on up to 120 (60 stereo) hardware output...
Thanks, that's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to go through the SAC manual to figure out that routing.
It looks like there are 24 stereo outputs available in SS. The Audio Device...
Curious if there's a way to have SS output to more than 48 audio channels (24 stereo return tracks). Would adding SAC do it? I downloaded the SAC64 demo and it looks like there are 60 stereo output...
Basically I'm wondering if any third party native plugins have been updated to work with SS 64 bit? I've checked Sonoris, JMS, and Anwida and couldn't find any info (Anwida's site is just a 'coming...
Hi all, it's been a little while since I've posted here. I'm curious if older third party native SS plugins are working in the 64 bit version of SS? Or have any native plugin developers updated their...
I know that this is an older thread, but Steve if you're still following I'd love to know how you approach integrating your outboard gear with SS. I use my outboard as external inserts in Cubase and...
Sorry if this has been covered before.. But is this update with the touch view only going to be for SAC, or will SAW be updated with it too? I think it would be a lot of fun to be able to run SAW...
It installed 32 and 64 bit VST versions on my system.
Good to know.. Do you ever have issues opening saved projects that have those plugins loaded?
Just remembered this blurb in the Exponential Audio FAQ section (their plugins also use the latest iLok2/ILM protection):
Are there any DAWs that don’t support PhoenixVerb and R2?
SAW has...
I've been trying out all of my plugins in the SS demo and have noticed that the only ones I've had any real problems with are the ones that require iLok2 and the latest ILM (iLok License Manager) to...
You're right, I meant post fader to avoid the automation latency issue.
In the past couple of years UA has clamped down on their list of 'officially' supported DAWs.. It would be interesting to...
Have you reported the crashing to UA? Maybe it's a bug with their 32 bit versions. It's possible that SS users are the last group of any size using 32 bit VST plugins, so UA might not know about it....
Thanks for the details Dave! I'd have to work with it but I think I could live with the small amount of automation latency if that was the worst case. Right now I work in Logic with a large format...
Thanks Hal, pretty cool that it's still working in XP. I love the Lex 224, definitely one of my favorite UAD plugins!
Thanks for the details. Can I ask what Windows version you're running and how much ram you have installed?
Was it a particular plugin giving you problems? And why do you think it was a memory leak? Do they work fine for a while and then start having problems?
Cool, thanks Sean.
Perfect, that's exactly what I wanted to know!
I know the newer plugs are pretty dsp heavy, especially the 1073.. I'm looking at getting an Octo card with the nice voucher they have going.
Same question for you Tank.. Have you been using any of the latest plugins?
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Dave. Are you using any of the newer plugins? Like have you tried the new Neve 1073? I found a thread here from a couple of years ago where someone was having problems with the MXR Flanger,...
Good news, thanks!
After years of frustration dealing with various DAW bugs, hiccups, slow response, and bad workflow (for me), I'm circling back around to SS. I'll do my midi work in another DAW, but once everything...
