SAW STUDIO will not use Sound Devices files

This is the first time ever (for me). SAW pops up a box from Windows and immediately shuts down. I know this was discussed a long time ago. As I remember it was a simple fix. Any fixers out there...

Re: Working on a Windows 7 problem

Dave, I work with James Reel on one big project, but most of my clients like UofA take their masters directly to KUAT. I tell new clients about KUAT if I think their quality is "good enough". I sit...

Working on a Windows 7 problem

My old SAW LITE 5.5 system is working fine with Windows XP3 but I have built a new Windows 7 video machine and decided to see how SAW LITE would work with the two software packages.

    The audio...
  8. Re: SawStudio Lite will not install 5.5 5.3 is OK

I am busy. But enjoying it except for these little issues. Why is MS Windows giving away 10? Is it not PRO?
  9. Re: SawStudio Lite will not install 5.5 5.3 is OK

It seems I have found a solution. There is a PROGRAM COMPATIBILITY ASSISTANT in the local services window. This can be turned off in the SERVICES window. Never had this problem with XP.

    Such...
  10. SawStudio Lite will not install 5.5 5.3 is OK

Windows 7 will install SawStudio Lite up to 5.3. 5.5 will not install. Any Ideas out there.

Re: OT: video streaming has stopped working

Example: I have Chrome opening certain websites which Firefox will not open. There are other websites that will not open in either.

I see that you have identified streaming as the problem which...

Re: OT: video streaming has stopped working

Internal operates fine, there are no internal issues (that I can see).

Here, there is something happening at log-in for only certain web sites. Flash doesn't seem to be the culprit.

I am having similar issues. Is your system clock at the right time? + or - ? For example, if your system clock battery or the time on your machine is way off, your machine is trying to make sure...

    Re: Recording a choir

The only ORTF mics you seem to have are the Shure SM81's. Set them up according to the ORTF requirements, 100 degree spread and seven inches apart from the mic diaphrams (ie); Ten to Twelve feet...

I am looking for an answer to this as well. Zone Alarm may be a part of this problem, at least on my XP3 machine. (Any body out there remember XP?)

The Mogami that I have used is the standard "stage use" product. That may be what you have already been or intend to use. The only noticeable thing I have noticed is some loss of the Low Bass signal...

    Richard,
Let me know if you are still interested in the Rode mics.

You might want to read a thorough review.

IMHO, the Sennheiser 800 is a better product.

Try the online trouble shooter. It is available on the Foobar HELP tab.

Another thought. "Emulator" smells of potential problems. Why is an emulator necessary?
  22. Re: Headphones vs Monitors to mix in the 2014 edtion

I firmly believe that good earphones give a more accurate reading of the details in a 3D mix. I use a Burson Audio amplifier with Sennheiser HD 800 phones. Just for occasional use, I also have the...

Re: A Summing Test that needs your evaluation

    Russell,
My first choice: Track #1 has a more open sound stage and an apparent higher rms level.

In a short listen, tracks #2 and #3 don't seem very different (if at all).
