Hi all
I was playing around with sac demo, and was amazed how well it worked. Bob is the new sac engine going to be incorporated into saw.

The two engines are different in many ways... SAC is an input driven engine while SAW is an output driven engine... it makes sense to leave them the way they are.

Hi Bob
playing around with sac, it seems to input and output both well. I thought that was the direction saw was going. To have both in and out streaming for recording in a single box. I have been a saw,sawplus32,sawstudiolite user for over 12 years hopping to see saw do what sac is doing.
thanks

The SAW engine must stay the way it is in order to do auto latency compensation for vst plugins...
SAC's engine cannot do that because there is no look-ahead on a live input driven design.

What is wrong with a non-advertised SAW/SAC design that is deliverable via download that is NOT using VST plugins for faster operation?
What is being stated is this: If SAC can record and have less latency, why does the version of SAC have to 'tie-in' to SAW at all? Why isn't it stand-alone?

They are both stand alone but when you do link them, there's a world of advantages.

Sheesh, just buy a SAC license and then you can link them and be done with it. When you're just editing and you don't need the low latency, just open SAW and edit away minus SAC. When you need that monitoring and other tasks that SAC brings to the table, open up both of them.
