    Default WiFi Signal Strength Meter?

    Does anyone know of a small meter that could be left open on a SAC Remote to indicate signal strength of the WiFi signal? As you roam a venue, it would be helpful to know if you're in danger of losing your WiFi connection.
    Currently using:
    T43p Thinkpad w/XP SP3 for FOH, Subs and Front Fill Mixes (20% CPU load);
    T500 Thinkpad w/Win7 SP1 for 6 Monitor Mixes (15% CPU load)
    Running at 2x32
    2 Digifaces, 1 w/CardBus, 1 w/ExpressCard
    3-Octamic-D for mic inputs - using the dual outputs to split the ADAT signal to the Digifaces;
    1-RME ADI-8 Pro for all FOH sends; 1-RME ADI-8 Pro for all Monitor sends;

    If you have an Android phone, "there's an app for that".

    I found http://download.cnet.com/WIFI-Signal...-10663562.html on Google. I don't know how good it is - there are a fair # of bad reviews. If you're on Win7, I believe there's a Widget to do it as well.

    Not really "small", but it works very well, and gives you an idea of what is out there...

    I was going to recommend NetStumbler until I saw this. This looks like a good little app to have in your SAC arsenal. I would install it on my laptop, which is usually a remote and rarely a host.

    +1 to MetaGeek products. Their WiSpy is an often-used tool for my residential installations, and makes appearances at professional events and installs as well.

    You'd want to use something like inssider. A smartphone app will show you the strength on the smartphone but that won't necessarily match the signal strength achieved by the antennae on your remote.
