  1. Default Can Anyone Save A Session in 5.0?

    Thanks, Bob... for 5.0. Lots of great features and fixes, with more to come it looks like. I'm looking forward to the output channel recording feature coming later.

    But... doing a simple test on a test PC with 5.0, I cannot exit SS 5.0 when prompted with the "Notice!" dialog box with the "Update Current EditList File Before Exiting?" (Yes/No/Cancel) text. It's as if I cannot get focus on that popup window. Clicking on it or its buttons has no effect, nor did pressing Y/N/C.

    To reproduce, I can just launch SS 5.0, modify the label on track 1, and click the X in the upper right corner to exit. Is it just me on this non-optimized test PC?

    Hopefully it is just me, but other users proceed with caution I suppose (as is always the case with any software update.) If this is an actual problem, it looks like it could cause you to lose your session/EditList. The only option I've found to end SS at that point is to terminate it the task in Task Manager.

    4.9a works as expected, btw.

    I'm experiencing freezing when I try to clear preferences, change sample rate, or load a new edl after making changes in an open one.

    I tried the same thing and get the same issue. Win 7 32bit.

    Also, if you open a session and right-click on a track and get the notice about not tracks, you can't close that window either.

    Forgot to mention; when I forced quit and tried to delete the saw folder (to try a clean install), windows messaged that the app was still in use. I had to reboot.

    Ok - thanks folks. Sounds like there are still some kinks to be worked out then.

    I am testing on a Win 7 x64 i5 system myself.

    So far no problems with 5.0 - closing works as usual..but still in the initial test run.

    Interesting... no matter how much you test... there is always something.

    I have Win 2000, Win XP, Win XP64, Win 7 32bit, and Win 7 64 bit and it seems to work just fine one all of them here.

    Perhaps try a fresh test install in a new folder and see what happens.

    Could be something in the preferences.

    Just curious, Bob: Can you say on which OS you're getting the best performance? Are you using the same or similar computers to test each OS?
    Currently using:
    T43p Thinkpad w/XP SP3 for FOH, Subs and Front Fill Mixes (20% CPU load);
    T500 Thinkpad w/Win7 SP1 for 6 Monitor Mixes (15% CPU load)
    Running at 2x32
    2 Digifaces, 1 w/CardBus, 1 w/ExpressCard
    3-Octamic-D for mic inputs - using the dual outputs to split the ADAT signal to the Digifaces;
    1-RME ADI-8 Pro for all FOH sends; 1-RME ADI-8 Pro for all Monitor sends;
